In “Good Morning America,” Hillary Swank revealed that she is getting ready for the most important role of her career: mother. Hilary Swank
The two-time Oscar winner announced that she and her husband Philip Schneider are expecting twins at the conclusion of their “GMA” interview on Wednesday.
Swank declared, “I’m going to be a mom — and not just of one, but of two.” I find it hard to believe.
The “Million Dollar Baby” actress remarked, “It’s so good to be able to talk about it and share it.”
Swank is preparing for her comeback to network television with ABC’s “Alaska Daily” while she waits for the birth of her two children with Schneider, whom she married in 2018.
The Oscar-winning screenwriter of the year’s greatest film, “Spotlight,” Tom McCarthy, is the creator of the new show, which debuts on Thursday.
Swank claimed that after their discussion, McCarthy sent her a copy of Kyle Hopkins’ story from the Anchorage Daily News from 2019 titled “Lawless,” which was “about genuine crimes in Alaska.”
The actress described the experience as “eye-opening, horrific — all things at once, things you can’t believe are occurring.” I want to draw attention to these problems, especially the missing and murdered Indigenous women, about whom, I mean, nothing is being done.
Doing justice for the underdogs and the downtrodden is an additional obligation, she continued. I’m just passionate about it, that’s all.
In “Alaska Daily,” Swank portrays the role of Eileen, a New York journalist who relocates to Alaska to work for an Anchorage daily newspaper. Eileen wants a fresh start in both her personal and professional lives.
The actress claimed that even if she doesn’t write like Eileen, she can relate to her because finding the truth is her main objective as an investigative reporter.
Swank stated, “As an actress, I’m looking for the truth in my characters.
ABC will debut “Alaska Daily” on Thursday, Oct. 6, at 10 p.m. ET.
